Iowa

Im proud to present a version of Iowa with 43 pit stalls.

The track was made originally from scratch by Mark Royer
He did an excellent job on it too considering that no race had ever been run on the track before he released it. He went totally on pictures and satellite shots he found online of the construction process. Practically all of the buildings and objects around the track were custom made by him. So he definitely deserves major kudos for his work on this track considering that no one, before us, has even attempted to improve on his original effort.

This track is not an acurate representation mearly a new Iowa with 43 working pit stalls and some added mod cons such as pit contol system etc.
Hence just calling it Iowa.
If anybody has the urge to paint new billboards relevant to the 2012 layout i will gladly add them and credit.

I have added or altered the following to make allowances for the track ageing plus improvements added over the years.

New high infield race speck fencing,
New pit road with 43 defined pit stalls and markings.tyre marks, pit barrels.
New asphalt textures
New caution lights and pit road control lights
Added cones to entry of turns 1 and 3.
Pit road advertising plus new wall logos
Added more 3d crowds to the stands befitting a major series race.

Credits go to
Mark Royer for the original track
Whelen lights from Revamped Reloaded
An assortment of wall logos - SBP
Pit lights - Smiffsden
Pit skid marks - James76
Pit barrels - rupe

And finally
J.R Franklin -
All new Lp files
New fast and expert setups
New Hi Res Horizons
Much tinkering fixing and correcting.

Ian Smiff -
Who at short notice produced the grass and Asphalt logos

Im now working on the night version which will follow shortly

Many thanks to all

Sean

Re: Iowa

It's great to have worked with Sean to update another track that's now a mainstay on both the NASCAR Nationwide and Camping World Series' schedules. Hopefully this will help fill another void in your schedules for leagues and guys like me who like to run offline schedules.

Unfortunately Sean forgot to include my final updated track.ini with the version of the track he posted. Please replace the track.ini that is currently in the track with this one:

Iowa 2012 updated track.ini

Enjoy! emoticon

I think Sean took the track down temporarily to update it with the correct track.ini. (see above post). Be patient and try it again a little later on today. emoticon

Re: Iowa

I was in such a rush to upload the file that i renamed the wrong ini and added a beta instead of the final.

Re: Iowa

I also posted this in the thread about Iowa Night. Here are a couple of important things about this track....

First of all, I should clarify for the record, that the setups provided with the track (both day and night versions) for the Cup, GNS and CTS are NOT my setups. They are a collection from a few of the finest setup men in the business for NR2003, Wayne Faircloth, Danny Coral, Volker Hackman and FLM.

Secondly, I forgot to include a raceline.lp in the files I sent to Sean for my work on the A.I. The raceline.lp displays the racing line in the game for those who like to activate it and see the ideal racing line. So, here is a raceline.lp to put in the track folder:

Iowa raceline file

Just put this file in your Iowa and Iowa_night track folders.

Volker setup = no steering with wheel, steer with accelerator, hang on for dear life, and omg that was a fast lap!!!

Sprint Cup races would be just fine with 36 cars.

Yup. You got THAT right! emoticon
That's why it's the "expert" setup. emoticon
