16 year old ISRS offline series adds Heads Up Racing

The ISRS series has been racing offline since 1996 with the same scoring system, which is based on:

1. Laps complete
2. Finishing position
3. AI Strength
4. Race Speed

We feel the time is right to add a new division where drivers race "Heads Up" with scoring based only on laps completed and race speed. All races are run at 100% AI strength, 15% distances, cautions on, and pit stop frequency x2.

The new division begins with the race at Lowe's Motor Speedway, due June 3. New drivers are welcome to join us at Talladega and Darlington as a warm-up. For full details, and to ask questions and give suggestions, visit www.or4c.com/isrs

Where's an exact set of all the rules? I've looked but can't really find all of them. For example, you state that the opponent strength is adjustable following the guidelines but I can't find any guidelines. Any help is appreciated. Thanks!

For the new class, the AI strength is set at 100%.

For the current class, you set your AI strength so you have a good race against the AI. The guideline has been so that your fastest lap is within 1mph of the best AI lap. In practice, not qualifying.

If you set it too high, you won't be abl to finish well against the AI. If you set it too low, you won't be scored as high in the overall results. So there is no incentive to easily blow the AI away.

The current class is traditional offline racing, where we compare our races against the AI. Every year we have races in which nobody won their local race. But like everything "good old", not everyone appreciates it over time. So, we're running both ways.

Hope that helps.
