It's unclear to me why someone felt it necessary to have this available at a temporary file download sight, when the original release of this repaired classic is still available at SimRacingMirrorZone (Metro Grand Prix).

This is a fix (working ai for pta and gtp) of the converted BRA_metro track by Brendan Betts, circa 2003. I don't know from what platform he made the conversion (possibly NascarHeat), but the track originally started from a modification by Bassguy (12/20/02) from part of a Hooters Road Trip track originally converted for SCGT by Anton Petkov.

Because the track was not available for quite a while, and is currently only available at a temporary download site, I have included the original BRA_metro.dat with the new ptf and ai support (pta & gtp) as addons.
In general, this track has/had a plethora of anomalies, but it's a cool track and was worth fixing.
I had to re-work the track centerline just beyond the essses, through the short chute, and on the backstraight in order for the ai to be able to drive it without trying to run through walls. The roadway configuration itself hasn't changed.
I kept the track bumpy, but took out the swales that launched the cars at speed. I did add a crown in the center of the pavement for an off-camber effect, and bumps on the curbs at corners.
I fixed all the mips, arrows on walls going the proper direction, uniform fence tex_params, matching building parts, etc. I added some objects and plugged some of the scenery holes.

The streets (pavement and markings) and walls are all contained in one giant 3do. It doesn't follow the contour of the track, so at some locations the cars sink into the pavement and the raceline.lp and groove are not visible. It's only noticeable at a few locations and I don't find it that distracking, but if it matters to you, there's an optional ptf that removes the false pavement. However, you'll only get "some" crosswalks and there are no lane markers.

(It's in the readme, but as we're all aware, no one reads those, so be advised that using the mirror quality "high" option will cause a black screen lockup.)

The pavement pops up in the air in certain places.

The track was created for Nascar heat and converted to other game such as rFactor and others.
