Quick Question.....Someone plz answer.

I'm just wondering if i can delete the original tracks that come with the game because i have downloaded so many other tracks and i have no room because the limit is 128. i never use the original tracks so i just want to know if i can delete them and not have the game crash, not work, or anything like that. I already know that i need the shared folder so i cant delete that.
someone plz give me an answer to my question, i would really appreciate it thx.

Sure. I would recommend you make another folder, called ztracks, and just drag the tracks you don't want over there. That way they are still available if needed, but don't show up in the track list in-game.

I'v done this too, called it tracks B...Got a question, never seen this before, and searched all over, just me?

OK here it is: When in game and looking at the tracks list, all tracks installed have forward slash / after there name..like this:
avus50s/
Basslake_Dirt/
blueridge/
bristol/
california/
It don't seem to effect the game..I have only track folders in "tracks" I have the right amount of tracks installed (128) Anyone know why the forward slash / ??

Cheers ..
Swifty

Never saw the forward slash thing before. I think its somehow unique to your install. The name comes directly from the track.ini file, from here:

track_name_short = Hockenheim 2012 ; this one shows on track list

BTW you can have several/many/unlimited(?) installs of N2K3. I currently have 6 installed to support all the mods and tracks and for track development. Just click, drag, and rename. Make a shortcut and there you go.

You must use the NORAD servers in Mt Hood for your hard drive. Geez, if I had that many installs I would need a sep pc just for Windows. I just use defpick to setup different directories for the soundpacks and tracks. Still a sizeable folder, but a little more manageable.

1 terabyte HDD from CompUSA for $129, you can get a 1.5TB for the same price now. And double that (3TB) for another $100 bucks. That would hold every track, mod, and car set ever done for N2K3.

I use D3PlayerPicker, no swapping folder etc. It's just different track list & sound folders for each different mod. I have 300+ tracks in my folder & 6 different sound folders. The best utility made for Nr2003 IMO.

LOL...... I'm old school. I (used to) use a batch file to swap "Road", "Speedway", "Short", and "Original". Basically what PlayerPicker is.

Gave up and just stuck with Short for my Tracks folder. Keep St. Pete and a couple of other favorites in it.

LOL....... just remembered. I need to reinstall logitech drivers, if I ever want to use the game........ thanks for reminder!

odd about the slash. makes it sound like a folder in a folder, but that wouldn't work in-game.
