Bowtie214, I was wondering, it sounds like some of the tunes posted are MIDI songs, would I be correct in thinking this? I'm a player also, that's why I'm wondering.

Re: Some of our tunes...

Hey MrNorm62....we use midi as a template for most of the 'cover' tunes, especially for the drum tracks. I use 'Addictive Drums' synth by XLN Audio. Also, my friends, Bane Schill (keyboards), and Bo Foster (singer/song writer/guitarist), have studios similar to mine, so we can work on our own parts, using similar DAWs (Sonar X3, Samplitude Pro Suite, BandinaBox, Pro tools, etc.)
We create our own midi tracks for certain songs where we've re-arranged the original style.
Several of the songs were built from scratch, mainly the songs by Bo Foster.
My daughter, Teresa Eden, has her own studio, but still hangs with the ol' man at times. She is the female vocalist you hear on our songs.
Right now, we are working on 'Backing Tracks' for folks who have a song in their head and wanna record it. Studio time, as you know can cost a pretty penny, but we can cut that down considerably!
I play guitars and bass, so all guitar work on our songs is by me, rather they are right or wrong. emoticon
You are a player, huh? Fill me in a little...
...sorry for the long post, but...

Re: Some of our tunes...

I guess I missed seeing this response, by a long shot. I've been playing around 50 years now, guitar, bass, keys, mandolin, pedal steel and banjo. I have something like 30 or so guitars (inc mandos and banjos) and several keyboards, I sold my pedal steel a few years ago and now kick myself but right now I'd have no place to set it up. I have several good amps, mixers (digital and analog) and r2r systems for home studio recording. The guitars I have are some Martins, Gibsons, Fenders, Alembic etc, I have a few kick around guitars but most are high quality, Martin D45, 59 LPGT, 70s TeleTL, Guild F512 and so on. I love the Rick sound so I also have a couple 360/12s, one being the new walnut they did. I've gigged for many years but had to stop a few years back when an accident left my back hosed, 4 ruptured discs, trying to get back into it again now. The wife thinks I'm goofy with all the stuff I have but, what the heck, I'm retired so I need a hobby LOL...

Re: Some of our tunes...

MrNorm62, you have twice as many guitars as me, although I have parted with several I wish I had back!
I have a 1989 Stratocaster as my main goto...my baby...
there are 5 wall hangers, including a 1973 Ibanez doubleneck I bought new.(My avatar)
I have one of those 1980's 'beginner' Sho Bud-Maverick pedal steels...single neck, 3 pedals, and 2 knee levers. It serves my purpose, and sounds really nice.
I have 3 Martins, but I'm not so crazy about 'em. I have a cheaper EXP flat top that sound much better, 2 older Fender flattops, a Bradley banjo, Ibanez Sound Gear bass, and some odds and ends..emoticon

I remember a Mr. Norm's Grand Spalding Dodge that would occaisionally run at our local Drag Strip, Mason Dixon Dragway in Hagerstown Md. Is there a connection, by any chance?
