Re: Highbank's Trans Am Car Sets
Had surgery last Friday and have been in recoup mode for a week, getting a little couch wary, I'm supposed to be down until the 23rd, getting a little tired of not working on stuff, but I have snuck a few things out, like starting the 1988 Escort Trans Am series car set for NR2003.
Also some very early preliminary work on a 1968 Trans Am set for HEAT. (I've done the #6 Sunoco Camaro of Mark Donahue) The team over at The Mod Squad is working up a car viewer for the HEAT VTA mod and Rogue is working on a render scene as well. So that's kind of in the slow mode for now...
Back to the NR2003 ASA90 mod for the 1988 TA set. I've done two cars so far, plus my driver car for the set...
Here are the three cars about to drop into the "Bus Stop" at the Watkins Glen Boot (Long) track...Of course the '88 Trans Am story was the Audi Quattro team with Hurley Haywood in the #44 Audi taking the title. So this meant doing an Audi template. I'm going to release this at the time of the set release together with the Porsche 944, Mazda RX7, and Nissan 300ZX plus any other templates I make for the set.
The second car in the image is the #7 Paul Gentilozzi Olds Cutlass. Gentilozzi won the first race on the 1988 schedule @ Long Beach in his Budwieser Olds.
The barely visible third car is my #51 Dayco Ford Mustang driver car...here's another angle of the three cars...
Not really hard at work on anything yet, not supposed to be sitting much at all...
And as a PSA for all you guys 50 or older, get that prostate check!

Re: Highbank's Trans Am Car Sets
Glad to see that you're on the mend, Highbank. Also looks like you are following your Doctor's orders and being the perfect patient... NOT!!!
You're off to a great start on your next awesome car set! Looking forward to another great informative ride throughout it's development process.

Re: Highbank's Trans Am Car Sets
Thanks JR! Feeling a bit better, by the end of the week I should be mostly back to normal...
I added the #14 Hans Stuck Audi since it was a simple re-number and finished the Lyn St James #2 Merkur

Re: Highbank's Trans Am Car Sets
I thought I'd mention that while I'm doing this 1988 set, I'm also doing a 1968 Trans Am set for both NR2003 and HEAT. I figured I'd just do them at the same time it'll go quickly.
First car for those sets is the Mark Donohue Sunoco Camaro...of course...
NR2003 Version...
HEAT version...

Re: Highbank's Trans Am Car Sets
Thanks Dave!
Moving forward a little with the 1968 Trans Am Sets, I finished the Mark Waco #79 Cougar for both platforms...
Of course I had to create a template for the Cougar and after trying on the Challenger and Camaro models, I decided the the Mustang presented the best Cougar look...

Re: Highbank's Trans Am Car Sets
Four cars now in the 1968 Trans Am car set after the adding of the #16 Sam Posey Sunoco Penske Camaro and the privateer #24 Jim Murphy Camaro to the #6 Mark Donohue Camaro and #79 Mark Waco Cougar...
After having surgery, it seemed I lost my car set mojo, but it's slowly coming back. It amazes me to think that I've done whole car sets in the time it's taken me to finish just four cars for this one...EEEK!
Like I said it's coming back...I've got lots on my plate right now...but I'm getting back to the painting little by little...

Re: Highbank's Trans Am Car Sets
Trying to get back to these projects has been tough as the real world has keep me busy of late...but here's a screen grab of the 1968 TA set, actually a few more have been added but they are cars that have the same numbers (Shelby Racing's Mustangs ran in four different colors in 1968 for example)
