Re: Highbank's Trans Am Car Sets

Just a quick note to let y'all know what's going on with my projects...

I'm currently trying to get the 1968 Trans Am Set for NASCAR HEAT completed.

I was trying to get that '68 set done for both HEAT and NR2003 concurrently but that was just muddling my mind up going back and forth. So I decided to concentrate my efforts on one at a time and that has helped it move forward again.

Here's the completed Race 4 @ Lime Rock set on the track....(excuse the type on "Revson" just rushing a bit...

Now I say completed but I still have some work to do and some learning as well to get this first set released, but the cars are done for this race now, I'm moving on to another "race set" now. The car counts for 1968 were small, between 8 and 13 cars at most events with a few more at Riverside and the first two races which were the endurance events at Daytona and Sebring...

OH, I should add that after I finish this HEAT set, I'll be doing the NR2003 set, I'm hoping to have the HEAT set done this month and the NR set soon afterwards...

After a long detour into the world of NASCAR HEAT where I produced a couple of cool carsets, (you can check them out over at The Mod Squad) I've returned to the 1988 Trans Am carset for NR2003 on the ASA90 mod....

Just finished the fifth car for the set, the #1 Stroh Light Merkur XR4ti of Scott Pruett...

Hoping to have this set done sometime in April...

1988 Trans Am carset is up to eleven cars [sign in to see URL]'s coming along nicely if I say so myself...

I have begun working on the ratings now as the set contains enough cars to give me some good [sign in to see URL]'s will have to be dominant, but I don't want it to be hopeless for the rest of the [sign in to see URL] all they didn't win them all in '[sign in to see URL] course the SCCA kept moving the bar to slow them down, so much so that they picked up their toys and went IMSA racing where the rules were less..."restrictive"

Hey "dhenn" that truly made me shout! Thanks for that amazing feedback, I'm glad that I could influence you to giving the "right-handers" a try!

As far as the other mods you mentioned, when I get to certain years down the road, both of those mods will be good subjects to paint [sign in to see URL] for now these ASA90 cars were born for this era. I'm amazed how they pull off some of these [sign in to see URL] with Porsche 944s painted on them, and it works! CRAZY!

Once again I say thanks Mr. Franklin, you honor me by your kind words...

Thanks both of you!

Re: Highbank's Trans Am Car Sets

Bill . . . what can I say other than thank you, thank you, thank you!

Firstly, for the history lessons as you work your magic. While I use to enjoy the races on tv here(back in the Tommy Kendall, Ron Fellows days) but they were short lived and they stopped broadcasting them. While enjoying the papy line of sims going back to icr and n1 have never had the urge to turn right. You have changed my feelings towards road/street courses and again I thank you.

Secondly, for the hours of work and research done to make this possible for me (and fellow simmers) to enjoy and relive the eras. I know the amount of time this takes up in your life and applaud your efforts, so again thank you.

Now a question, with each release of an era, do you have templates available so we can update our cars so they stay the same as the cars released?

again thanks for everything you do/have done, it is very much appreciated.
