How to? DW12 with GTP physics


I saw a video of smifsdens dw12 mod being run with the gtp physics, just curious how one may be able to do this. Seems like a lot of fun.

I have to admit, I'm long out of n2k3, but you change physics of a mod in one of the ini's. As best as I can tell, you go into the mod, and edit the "series.def" file in notepad.

I just don't remember all the values for all the different mod physics. And in the game I have installed I don't have the GTP mod installed, so I can't give you the values.

If you have other GTP mods installed, copy that text to the mod you want to run.

I copied the def file with no change in physics. I've read it's much easier to move the DW12 mod into GTP, now it's just figuring that out. I'll post info here if I get it working.

Yes, very big difference. GTP is much much closer to indycars then PTA is.

You might try the OWR mod (OWR5? OWR7?) that had a modified exe file. The car performance is great, and it is very easy to change cars to it, where the GTP mod is almost impossible to import Cup or whatever types of cars into it.
The restriction to the OWR mod is that there are only 2 car types available, any imported cars must be converted to one of these types to show up in the car selector.
I don't know where the OWR mod is available at these days.

pardon my forgetfulness, but I think you have to change all the car names too?

I have the old MasGrafix car file changer, but it didn't do gtp. I'd guess manually renaming them would work. I think that was all the file changer did.

I did, changed the car names, unpacked the .day and renamed everything there. At a loss as to what i'm missing.

starting to come back to me.....

track.ini needs gtp settings as well. There are some codes at the top, and then you'd have to have a gtp stanza in the track.ini for gtp for AI and for yourself.
