How About Some 1970's Modifieds...

Image

What you're seeing in this render above is the culmination of over a year of planning and modeling work by DaveO of V8 Mods along with research and quality control assistance from me, Mike, Ian and the rest of the GPD guys. Hundreds of hours were spent in creating these awesome vintage modifieds from the 1970's. The specific models from left to right are the AMC Gremlin, Chevy Vega, generic Coupe and Ford Pinto. These models were massaged, tweaked... critiqued... and then tweaked again until they were just right within the limitations of NR2003 and NASCAR Heat.

Right now, DaveO and Ian of V8 Mods are taking a little break from all of this work for the rest of the summer. Then work will begin to get these models into NR2003. Huge Kudos go out to DaveO and Ian of V8 Mods for working to make these awesome racing machines from our youth come to back to life on our PCs and to Mike of GPD for painting up a tremendous All-star stable of cars and drivers from that golden era of modified racing.

In the coming weeks and months during the summer break until work commences again to get the models into NR2003, we'll be releasing renders of the many historic paint schemes and models that will be offered with the Mod when it will ultimately be released.

I predict that his is going to be a very fun and popular mod. emoticon

Your right JR, I agree this mod will be a very popular mod for sure. These mods bring me back to when I first went every Saturday night to the races and watched the track go from the coupes to being paved and those pintos and vegas raced. For me in my racing days I went from asphalt cars to finish up on dirt with the coupes so this set will get plenty of use from me emoticon Great job all those who put the time into this. Cant wait!

It'd be great if there was an updated [super] late model. But I guess this will do for the oldies and the likes...

Thanks for posting the updates Dave (to give proper credit, the 9 and the 15 in the preview were actually painted by Dave). I am about 3/4 of the way through building an all-star set for this new mod that will have approximately 40 cars. It has most of your favorites from the past with a good cross-section of cars from various regions and tracks represented. I'm looking forward to their release!

THe initial all star set has 2 Richie Evans cars, a Pinto that Dave did and a coupe that I painted.

Any update on Danbury? This mod would seem perfect for it.
